NOVEMBER and DECEMBER EVENTS

Since the holidays are fast approaching, I thought I'd hold one more Christmas card class.  We'll be creating four quick cards that you can put into your stash ready for mailing.

First up is a very fast card using a Tim Holtz tree die and a Memory Box star (apologies for the blurry photo - camera is doing funky things today):

DATE:  SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH

Next up is another quick card using nothing but dies, embossing folder and and a corner punch:

Using the negative space from the holly, you'll next create this sparkly, easy card:

And our final card is created using one stamp and lots of die cuts:

DATE:  SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9TH

THIS IS A FREE EVENT!!

We will be doing a cookie swap and a potluck "Lupper"

Here's the deets:  You will need to bring one dozen cookies (preferably home made). Your cookies will be wrapped in a special "package"so I will need a head count by Monday, December 3rd.  This event is already over half full, so send me a quick email reserving your spot.

ALSO:  this will be a potluck "Lupper" (that's lunch and/or supper rolled into one).   So far we have someone bring a kielbasa/cabbage dish and another bringing a chile dish.)  If you have diet restrictions or just plain don't care for either of the above, you are more than welcome to bring an additional dish.  Someone is bringing cornbread and someone else is bringing bread. Dessert will be left over cookies (if any!).  If you'd like to make a dessert, then that will be terrific as well.

There are no time restrictions for this event - everyone is welcome to stay as long as they like.  Who knows, perhaps I'll throw in a game or two to spice it up even more!

Sliding Window Cards

DATE:  Monday, November 12

Let's get cracking on those Christmas cards!  It will be here faster than you think.  And I think you're gonna love this class!  We will be creating two cards using the same technique (practice makes perfect!).  These cards have a fun sliding window that opens when you open the card to reveal a message or image.  And we'll be revisiting an old friend from Scrapbook Cupboard days -- SNOWY the snowman!!  This is such a well loved image - one we never tire of.

So without further ado, here are the cards shown closed and opened.

Gift Box Set

DATE:  Sunday, October 7th
TIME:  1 TO 3pm

Well, it's officially Fall, but we are enjoying some really great weather so far.  We just had a Fall cards class yesterday and the ladies had a great time (partly at my expense, but hey, I'm tough!)

I have a really fun class planned for Sunday where you'll be creating a gift box and eight (8) cards with envelopes.  This is a great gift idea (planning already for the holidays) for birthday, holiday, shut-ins, hospital gift, etc.  Use your imagination - I know you'll think of many more ways to use this set.

So here's a look at the eight cards we'll be creating.  Using simple silhouette type stamps with a splash of color here and there and a micron pen, you'll be popping these out very quickly.

And to enclose these cards, you will be making your own box (as per sample below).  I will have lots of different designer papers available, but would also suggest that if you have a really nice designer paper at home that you are dying to use, bring it along and you can create your box with it (it needs to be 12 x 12).

You will need your regular class kit as well as the following:

*Micron pen (if you have one)

*Ruler

*Envelope Punch Board (if you have one)

(I only suggest the above to keep the class moving smoothly rather than using one board (mine) and waiting your turn.  Not fun.)

The Falling Leaves

Let's get a head start on the lovely Fall season by creating some easy, fun cards.  We'll be using embossing folders, mirror card stock and a direct-to-paper technique for these cards.  Hurry, class is filling fast!!  And you don't want to miss out on the free die set either!

Die Cut Layering with Words

Hello all!  Here I am again running late - it seems to becoming the norm and for that I apologize.

Our next class is this Friday and we'll be creating four fun cards using the same technique.  I love the large alphabet letters and loved creating these cards for you.

First up will be two cards that are the mirror opposites (why waste materials?). (you'll have to forgive my poor photograph -- these colors aren't quite on the money)

Next is the same technique incorporating more than one image.  Again, the color is a bit off in this image.

And the last project is the same technique, but giving the 3-D layers a little punch with black outlines.

I've Been Framed!

Hello again!  Time for another evening class and I've got a great one planned for you.  We will be creating three projects one of which can be taken home and completed if time does not allow in class.

I don't know why, but I fell in love with this frame die from Elizabeth Crafts and have had so much fun creating with it.

And here are the fun projects that I created just for you.  (I can order this frame for anyone who may be interested.)

First up is a stand alone frame created using Distress Oxides.  I love how these colors work together! And as a bonus, you will create a very simple card to coordinate with the frame using the waste piece to create additional flowers for the card.  PLEASE NOTE:  if you have already purchased this flower die set, please bring it to class - it will make things go a bit faster.)

Our next frame is actually converted to a card!  This would be a great frame to insert a picture of your summer travels to send to someone special (picture shown is just something I tore out of a magazine).

And if time allows, we will create this adorable pet frame that you can use for yourself or perhaps a friend or family member who has lost a pet.  You will have the choice between a cat and dog for this project.  If we run out of time, you can take the project packet home with you as I will have done all the preliminary work for you.

NOTE:  PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHETHER YOU'D PREFER A CAT OR A DOG IMAGE!!

A Heads Up on Classes

Hello all.  I hope your summer (I think it has arrived?) is going well.

I just want to update you all on class schedules.  The exciting thing is, I have now split classes into two segments - day and evening.  Classes have grown exponentially and many ladies prefer day classes during the week.  So I have split off into two different class selections thus making it easy for the ladies with jobs outside the home and those who, like me, have time on their hands (did I say that?).

I have been busy planning different classes and trying to get ahead on the schedule -- there's nothing worse than trying to plan a class last minute.  Pressure tends to stunt the creative juices.  That and my crazy busy lifestyle since moving to Middleboro!  My social calendar just won't quit!

So, here's the schedule for now - I will be adding more dates and projects going forward, but needed to get a jump on the most upcoming classes.

I stepped it up just a bit on this class with CAS (Clean And Simple) cards.  For someone like me, it can be extremely difficult to dial it down and create a very simple project.  I will have three lovely and different offerings for this class as follows:

As you know, I have comfy seating for 8 around the table, but can fit 2 more at the island, so feel free to contact me if you'd like to join this class.

We will be creating another version of a box card.  This one is made to look like a book, but when opened, it holds a lovely surprise inside for the recipient!


Looks just like a card, doesn't it?  Well check out the perspectives below!

And as if that isn't enough, here's an adorable "lunch box" type of box for more gift giving.  Maybe a scarf, or yummy candles or even homemade goodies.  The possibilities are endless.

(Pssst!  I dug up an old technique for that blue flower -- so much fun!)
