HAPPY NEW YEAR with Sliding Panel Cards

 DATE:  SUNDAY, January 8th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $20

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!  I know, as of this writing, it has not arrived but it's almost here!  Let's hope 2023 brings good health,  spiritual guidance, and love of family.

I've been busy creating some really fun stuff for you ladies for 2023.  You do know that it gets increasingly difficult to stay a step ahead by creating or plagiarizing new ideas for you, don't you?  Ahh, that's just what I love - a challenge!  So, I've been hard at work scoping out some new things for you to do with your inks and paper.

Our first class of 2023 will have you replicating a sliding panel card.  The panel slides through the center of your card and reveals the inside sentiment.  For example, our first card is a non-traditional color for a Valentine's card as follows:

The next photo shows how the front embellishment (slider panel) can be set aside to open the card:

The remaining two cards are made the same way but with different style sliding panels.  Our next one is a happy little birthday card...

And our last card is a generic, glitzy card using this same sliding panel affect.

So, come one - come all, to our next fun class ushering in the New Year.  Let me know if you'd like me to save you a seat by emailing, texting or calling to reserve your spot.

Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Holiday Cards

DATE:  Sunday, December 4th

TIME:  12:30 to whenever...

COST:  $20

It's holiday time!  It seemed to come up very suddenly, didn't it?  I'm in full swing with decorating for the holidays and all my Christmas cards are done - now to sit and address them all.

Our last class of 2022 is coming up on December 4th and we are combing this with our annual holiday bash.  So plan on staying a while and enjoy your class and some great food.

Due to special request, we are creating another swinging door card with a holiday theme.  I had shown this card as a nudge toward your creative juices to include just about any holiday or occasion.  You all admitted that you loved this technique, so here we go again!  Below are photos of the card closed and opened in a two-step process:

Open the set of "doors" for your first reveal...

then open the second "door" for the final reveal!

Now on to the card I had originally planned for this class.  This is a double step card and is wonderfully easy to do.  This technique is wonderful as a single version as most of you have seen.  So, our first photo is of the card closed..

And it expands to this size!  Isn't this a great card to display on a mantel or special surface for all to see?

There is one opening left in this class.  So hurry and sign up!

Also, remember, this is our annual Christmas party after class.  See details in newsletter.

Star Cards

DATE:  Sunday, 11/20

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30 (or thereabouts)

COST:  $20

We're on our way to Thanksgiving (where did the year go?), but all card makers are feverishly creating Christmas cards.  I, for one, am only half way thru my list of cards.  Guess I'd better get going!

And to get you going, we will be creating two cards using the same theme, but for different occasions.  The first card is for "every day" such as birthday, graduation, congratulations, etc.  You can create this for just about any occasion even new baby!!

Photos show the card face front and the second photo shows a top view of the card opened.  What a nice surprise!

Our second card is Christmas themed and opens the same as the above.  Both cards fold flat for easy mailing and are A2 size!

There is one opening left for this class.  If interested, please email, text or call me to reserve your seat.

Happy crafting!

POP UP GIFT CARD HOLDER

DATE:  Sunday, November 6th

TIME:  12:30 to 2:30  -  NOTE NEW TIME!

COST:  $20

You've likely notice the time change above.  The ladies at last class requested an earlier start time for classes due to the upcoming time change.  This allows those who live a distance to travel home in daylight.  So please note the new time change.  We will use this going forward.  It could change back in the Spring -- we'll take a vote at that time.

Now on to the good stuff!!  Gift cards are a way of life now -- I find especially with teenagers.  They LOVE gift cards!  Works for me -- I don't have to think hard on what to get them!  So with this in mind, I've replicated a cute gift card holder/card.  I think it's a great way to present a (bland) gift card!

Our first card has more muted tones and would really be great for the man in your life.  But don't stop there!  Use this style card for any occasion!

I've taken pics of the card closed and a few shots of it opened.  The second card works the same way.

And our second card is themed for the upcoming holidays.  I think you're going to be making quite a few of these!

It's a cute little gift bag!!  Add a little piece of tissue and the gift card and voila!

As mentioned in the newsletter, this class is over full.  If you are interested and didn't get on the sign-up sheet for this class, email me, text me, call me...  we can set up a private class for you.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 6th!

Swinging Door Cards

 DATE:  Sunday, October 23

TIME:  1 TO 3 pm

COST:  $20

Well, here I am late again!  It really doesn't matter since this next class is (over) full.  I guess the newsletter and this blog post are just a formality.

Below you will find two really fun technique cards that are simple to do.  I know I say that all the time, but  these really are.  A few folds and some stamps and you have a fun card for you as well as the recipient.

Our first card was made using this frog set (maker unknown) - if I get that information before class I'll be happy to pass it along.  These cards are fun because you have several "swinging doors" that open.  Can I just say, oh the possibilities!  Can't wait to try this using a Christmas theme

So here's the frog one: (sorry for the blurry photo)

You gotta admit, that's a cute set!

And our second card -- more on the elegant side...

So I ask you, can you see some really cute holiday cards using this method?

As mentioned above, this class is over full, but I'll be happy to schedule a private class for any overflow.  Just send me a text, email or phone call and we'll get something set up for you.

See you Sunday!

Pyramid Cards

DATE:  Sunday, October 9th

TIME:  1 to 3 pm

COST:  $20

In this next class we'll be resurrecting an oldie but goodie - Pyramid cards.  These are so simple to create and I just love that you can style them for just about any occasion.  Hopefully this class will get your creative juices going especially heading in to the holidays.

I've created two sizes for these cards; one will fit an A2 envelope and the other an A7 (5x7).  They fold flat - which creates a bit of mystery for the recipient.  Perhaps a note on how to fold them to stand up for display would be helpful?

Here's our first card (A2).  I photo'd it from two angles (geometry being what it is, it may look a bit warped).

And our second card that I adjusted to a larger size to create more "real estate" to decorate.  This one I have shown folded.

So, what do you say, let's get our creativity on and have fun with this class.  Be sure an check the newsletter for the list of supplies needed for this class.

Due to time constraints, I cannot accept additional enrollments for this class.  I can, however, accept private classes if so desired.

I look forward to seeing those who have signed up for this class!

Pop and Swing Cards

DATE:  Sunday, September 18th

TIME:  1 to 3 pm

COST:  $20

Yikes!  When did it get to be September?  So far so good -- some desperately needed rain and some spectacular sunny days.  Who could ask for more?

I have a few classes planned before we get into the holiday season and the thing to keep in mind is that any of the methods used in these classes can always be adapted to the holidays.  Check your stash for your class samples and re-create them!

This next technique is great because it doesn't involve any dies for the mechanism. It's such a cute concept and will put a smile on your recipient's face.  Here's what we've got...

The card opened...

And our second card...

If you've received the newsletter, then you know what supplies you'll need to bring to complete these cards.  So, let's have some fun!

Also, there is only one seat left for this class -- let me know if you'd like to join us!

This will be Bobbie's last class for the year and I'm sure she'll be bringing more of her goodies for sale.  So bring money, lol!

Looking forward to seeing you as always.

PLAYING WITH STENCILS

 DATE:  Sunday, September 4th

TIME:  1 to 3 pm

COST:  $20

Stencils are fun!  Most of us have at least one stencil in our stash and after this class, that amount is likely to increase.  They are versatile and easy and fun to use.  We'll be creating three different cards using a different method for each card.  I know you'll love how easy these techniques are to do.

This first card is an either/or -- in terms of ink colors.  I've listed the inks used in the newsletter to make it easy for you.  However, you are more than welcome to choose any 3 colors you'd like. (Be sure an check the newsletter for the ink list).

And our second card uses a light touch for the background.

And lastly, a very fun offset technique that I know you'll enjoy.

There is currently one seat left for this class, so give me a shout out if you'd like to join us!

See you soon!

8 Cards in Minutes!

DATE:  Sunday, August 21st

TIME: 1 to 3 pm

COST:  $20

Morning has broken...!  Oh wait, that's "weather has broken..."!  I'll take advantage as long as it lasts.  While closeted with hot weather, I was feverishly at work concocting more fun classes for you.  Wait till you see the line-up!  I'm all the way thru to the end of October.  Hmm, it may be time to start planning Christmas cards by then.  Wait and see!

This next class is one of those ones where you wonder why no one ever thought of this technique before.  It's not my idea (wish it was), but when I tripped across it, I knew I had to introduce it to you ladies.

Our first set of cards are done in soft colors.  Inks used are Salvaged Patina, Saltwater taffy, Wilted Violet and Hickory Smoke.  If you don't have these colors, feel free to bring any combination you'd like.  We do share, so don't stress over it.

And our second set of cards are done using bold colors and funky stamps.

When you get home, take a different look at your stamps and see how you can apply them to this technique -- I'll bet you'll surprise yourself!

The newsletter has listed all the inks used in these projects as well as instructions on the type of ink applicators to use.  This class is full, but I'll be happy to take any requests for a private class.  You don't want to miss this one!

See you on the 21st!  In the meantime, happy crafting!

Working with Acetate

 DATE:  Sunday, August 7th

TIME:  1 to 3pm

COST:  $20

Hello all!  I'm really late with this post -- got set back with a really nasty cold that has deprived me of sleep 5 nights in a row.  But I will soldier on and see you on Sunday!  This class is full, but if you'd like to create these fun cards, feel free to contact me to set up a private class.

I had a lot of fun creating these cards - using scraps and going into my vast stash of card stock. Combining some pleasing colors and running them through your paper cutter in various sizes will net you some really fun looks.  I kept the style simple just to give you the concept of this fun technique.

Here are our cards:

Due to limited colors left in my stash, there will be several versions of the above cards when you receive your kits.  They don't diminish the style in any way, but instead create more interest as you see how different colors lend themselves to the same projects.

Our second card uses lots of fun leftover vinyl (the type used in the Cricket).  Boy these do carry an impact!

The colors shown the above photo are nowhere near the colors actually used.  It's very difficult to photograph holographic or mirror card.  But I think you'll like this project.

As mentioned in the newsletter, be sure to bring plenty of dimensionals (tape or dots).  All card will be precut and numbered for you to make the class flow smoothly.  You have nothing to do but assemble and go home and try these techniques using your own product.  You'll love it!

As mentioned, this class is full.  But if you would like to try this technique, please text, email or call me and we'll set up a private class for you!

I look forward to seeing you all on 8/7!

Donna

Summer Cards

DATE:  Sunday, July 24th

TIME:  1 to 3 pm

COST:  $20

As you know, the newsletter went out way in advance of this class since I'll be away for a bit.  These cards are super simple to do and I think you'll be able to lend some really good ideas for their use once you start recreating them on your own.

Our first card is a great big ice cream bar that you can do in any color. I will try and give you the measurements at class time, but it's more than easy to figure out by using your sample.  Here's what we've got...

And this is the card opened (this is a slimline card, by the way):

And our second card is a chocolate bar (also slimline).  Imagine doing this in white chocolate or strawberry swirl (maybe for Christmas?  with a pretty holiday themed wrapper and bow?).  You will have the dimensions for this card as part of your class, so no worries.  You'll also be making envelopes for both cards.

There is ONE SEAT left for this class, so grab it quick.  You know how fast they go!

I'll see you when I return and, in the meantime, stay healthy and keep crafting!

Donna

Dragonflies and Daffodils

 DATE:  Sunday, June 26th

TIME:  1 to 3 pm

COST:  $20

Running late as usual!  I just got back from a few days in VT for the balloon festival.  Suffice it to say, they never went up while we were there lol!  Too much wind.  I hope the remainder of the weekend was better for all up there.

So I have another fun folded card for you this week.  I don't even know what to call it if you need a name - maybe inverted fold card?  In any event, this is a super simple card to make with a few score lines and 4 cut lines.  I will provide a diagram and instructions with the class.

I really had fun with this card -- just deciding what to put on it (them) to be a little creative.  Here's your first one with a daffodil.  The card fronts will be just slightly different for each card and I'm sure you'll come up with a few more ideas as well.

Sorry it's a bit blurry - don't know why my camera is acting up.

And our second card is with dragonflies...

I decided I wanted a little different look to the front of this card.

This class is FULL!  If interested, please email me, text me, call me, snail mail me....  You get the idea. I will be happy to set a separate date for you.

I look forward to seeing you.  And as a reminder, this will be the last class until the end of July since I'll be  away on an exciting trip.

A Slimline with a twist and Paper Dolls

 DATE:  Sunday, June 16th

TIME:  1 TO 3 PM

COST:  $20

Happy June to all.  It certainly ushered itself in with a boatload of pollen, didn't it?  I feel for those with allergies.

I decided to simplify things a bit for this next class.  I know I've been challenging you with some pretty crazy folds, etc. for the last few classes.  I also know you all enjoyed doing slimline cards when I was doing online classes during Covid, so I thought I'd reintroduce one again.  The concept is simple, but I added another dimension to it with a bookmark.  I think you'll enjoy creating this card.

We will also be creating the background for this bookmark using a collage effect.

Our next card taps into our inner child with paper dolls.  I thought this was the cutest set and have some add-ons as well.  You can have so much fun with this series which is made by Studio Light and called Missees (that's not a misspelling -  there are two "e's").  I chose the features that appealed to me at the time of creation, but there are more!  So we will get to it and play with paper dolls!

There are just two openings left in this class, so don't hesitate -- call, text or email me.  You know the drill!

I look forward to seeing you all.
