LACY DAYS OF SUMMER

 DATE:  Sunday, July 6th

 TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Summer has arrived!  Maybe it can tone it down a bit from 100 degrees tho?  Well, while the heat melts the outside, we will be in air-conditioned comfort creating some fun cards.  A medium that is often overlooked in card making is lace.  I was rummaging around the other day and came across some scraps of lace and thought "what a nice thing to introduce the ladies to" in a class.

I came across quite a few different types of lace in my stash and pulled out three different sizes for you to play with.  I started of with this simple 2" lace using butterflies and pearls for accents:

The next piece of lace is 1" wide so I used it to accent a strip down the side of this card:

And the last card features a wide 3" piece of lace.  The width of this lace inspired a slimline card which I think worked out very well:

You can use ruffled lace as well for your cards - these are just what I came across in my stash.  I hope these cards will inspire you to use something a bit unusual to enhance your card making.

There are still openings in this class, so let me know thru the usual channels (email, text, phone call, carrier pigeon, etc.) if you'd like to be included.

In the meantime, stay cool and we'll see you on the 6th of July.  In the meantime, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

Collapsing Pillar cards

DATE:  Sunday, June 22nd

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Boy, Father's Day threw a bunch of you a loop as far as classes go!  We will be back on schedule of every other week once Father's Day is done.

Having said that, I have another fun class prepared for you.  The pillars in these cards collapse so that they fit in a regular A2 size envelope.  One difference is that one card (the black and white "Hello" card) has two pillars (you can't see the one in the back in this photo, but it's there).  I like to push the envelope when it comes to a different folded card.  These are all A2 cards and it's a very simple adjustment if you wanted to create an A7 card.

Here's what we'll be doing in no special order:

c

Also in this class you will get to use some of the Lisa Horton Interference inks and some of the Altenew die inks.  You'll only need two ink colors for this class:  chipped sapphire and a yellow ink.

There are a few openings in this class - you know the drill!  Reserve early so that I have ample time to prep a kit.  There's a lot of die cutting involved, so lead time for me is important.  See you soon!

Diamond Pull-Out Cards

DATE:  Sunday, June 1st

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

And that one fun card comes along and I love to run with it!  Oh there were so may ideas running thru this brain for this style card.  So easy to create and I hope you like them as much as I do.

These cards will fit into an A2 size envelope for easy mailing.  Let your imagination soar with these easy cards.  I've show them all in both the closed and open posiitions.  I will also supply you with cutting dimensions for all three cards since the layering is different for them.

So here they are!  And here's one for the guys.  Let's face it, masculine cards can be a challenge.  This is easy-peasy!

In all honesty, I can't say which is my favorite.  I do know that the recipient will love it no matter which one they get.

As mentioned in the newsletter, check what to bring to class.  Also there are a few openings left - you know the drill!

In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you all!

Swing Cards

DATE:  Sunday,May 18th

 TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

It's that time again!  Time for a new style card, that is.  This is a really fun one and you will only be limited by your imagination when creating these.  I have put together three different cards and will try to put some very simple, basic instructions together for you so that you can replicate these at home.

I will show you all cards in both the closed and open positions.  They each have a simple hand-made mechanism to make them swing.  In no particular order, here's what we'll be doing:

These cards could confuse the recipient as they don't open in the traditional manner.  But they'll catch on rather quickly!

There are a few openings available -- you know the drill to reserve your spot!

As always, I look forward to seeing you all.

USING DIES TO EMBOSS

DATE:  Sunday, April 27th

TIME:  12:30 to 2:30

COST:  $25

Let's use those large cover plate dies!  They are all lovely when used as a background effect on your cards.  But how about we get more use out of them?  In this next class we'll be using these dies for embossing.  They give your cards a lovely textured effect.

Using some ink blending, stamping and wet embossing and then going to dry embossing - whew!  Sounds like a lot, but it's really simple but effective.  You be the judge...

Here's what you'll be making.  They are in no special order.

Using shades if blue, we'll ink blend this top layer.  Next will be inking and wet embossing.  Finale step is dry embossing using a large face plate die.

No ink blending here, but we will be splattering...

And more ink blending with this one, wet emboss and dry emboss.

Be sure and check the newsletter to see what inks and other tools to bring with you.  There are several openings in this class, so you know the drill - email, text, call, carrier pigeon to reserve your spot.

I look forward to seeing you all again.

Double Flap Pull Out Cards

DATE:  Sunday, April 13th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Someone please tell me where March went?  I blinked after St. Patty's Day and - GONE!  Well, let's get going with April then with a special fun fold card.  I think you'll be making a lot of these.  Remember, you are only hampered by your imagination!!  I will have written instructions for this project.

These are in no particular order - take a look.

First up is a great Get Well card...

And who doesn't like butterflies?  We'll have some fun with those fluttery beauties...

And our last card features flowers, of course!

And this is what these cards look like when opened.  Fun, yes?!?!

Using a combination of a bit of embossing, some coloring and stenciling, these cards go together rather quickly.  I'm already thinking ahead to Christmas and what I can do with this style card.

There are two openings left in this class, so text, email, phone, carrier pigeon - reserve your seat!

Check the newsletter to see what to bring to class.

See you soon!

Accordion Fold Cards

DATE:  Sunday, March 16th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

And we are off to yet another fun folded card!  I really enjoyed creating these cards and all the while thinking how many different occasions they can be used for.  I'm talking about these fun accordion front fold cards.

I've created two A2 size and then re-sized them for an A6 card size.  Here's what we'll be making:

This first card is shown both open and closed.  The other two cards are created the same way, I have just not shown them opened.

I have two openings left in this class.  You know the drill:  text, email, phone, write, carrier pigeon... to secure a spot.

As always, I look forward to seeing you all.

All That Glitters

DATE:  Sunday, February 16th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

YIKES!  Here we are in mid February already.  We've seen some of the white stuff and will likely see more.  As you know, if it snows on class day, I automatically push the date to the next Sunday.  We've been lucky so far!

I love glitter and shine, don't you?  In this next class I'll show you how to get some shine using three different methods.  Nope, no glitter in sight!  We'll be using double-sided tape and foil for one card, some lovely mirror card stock for another and some lovely, sparkly vinyl for the third.  Here are the projects;

I did have a 4th card ready, but do you think I can find the dies that go with it?  I will continue to search and if I find them, we will do a 4th card.

As mentioned in the newsletter, there are some tools you need to bring with you, so be sure to check it out.

See you soon unless it snows!

Layered Washi Tape Cards

DATE:  Sunday, February 2nd

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Well here we are starting February already!  This could be the snow month, so keep your eyes peeled on the weather.  As always, if it snows on a class date, the class will automatically be pushed to the following Sunday.

Have I got a great class for you!  I came across this washi tape by Aall and Create (you can purchase thru Scrapbook.com) and I just had to try it.  And as you can you imagine, I had to turn it into a class! I know you're as shocked as I am (NOT!).  There are many images to choose from and these just struck a chord with me (pssst! I also bought others but these are what you'll be using).

I have three lovely cards for you in no particular order (do you think the Milleniums know what this image  is on the first card???)...

Love how this next one went together...

And how about a circle card?...

As mentioned in the newsletter, you'll only need two ink colors and applicators and your Craft-Dee BowZ tool.  There are still a few openings in the class -- you know the drill to reserve your spot.

Pray for no snow and I'll see you all on 2/2!

VALENTINES CARDS

DATE:  Sunday, January 19th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Rolling right along this month!  I get a feeling that 2025 is going to fly on falcon wings!  So we will get a jump on Valentines Day cards with this class.  I've kept our first two classes fairly basic but things will start to ramp up in complexity as we go along.

I've got class projects all set thru the end of April and I just thought of a great project for May!  There are days when I'd like to shut my brain down, but that would be counter-productive now, wouldn't it?  So here are our simple Valentine cards in no particular order.  You'll notice I opted to stray from red and pink and go into the purples for a change.

Here's one with some glitter paper and fancy letter dies...

And here's one all tied up with a bow...

And here's the purple/lavender one using heart punches in a different way...

Don't forget to check the newsletter for "what to bring to class".  As mentioned in the newsletter, there are still some openings left, so email, text, carrier pigeon, call... to reserve your spot!

See you soon!
