Gift Boxed Cards and Place Card Napkin Holder

DATE:  SUNDAY, November 10th
TIME:  1 TO 3PM
COST:  $20

Sunday's class is one that has been requested, namely, the gift boxed cards.  The ladies did these before, but loved them so much that they requested it again.  This set makes a terrific gift for a shut-in, someone in the hospital, as a hostess thank you... And the list goes on.

So, what are we doing?  Let's take a look!

We'll be making the box as well as the cards and envelopes.  A busy class to be sure!

And as an added extra, the ladies had seen my knock-off of a place card napkin holder.  I had seen something like this on Etsy and made out of a more resistant medium.  I kept looking at it and decided I could definitely duplicate it in card stock.  So here goes!

Top view -- not impressive, right?  See next photo for close-up.

Imagine your guests at holiday time, sitting down to this adorable napkin place holder!  Be magnanimous -- send it home with them!  You can always duplicate it next year or for any occasion!

This class is already pretty full.  Unfortunately, I cannot accept any late sign-ups due to the amount of prep for this class.

Stay tuned for our next gathering.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING to one and all!

Pop-Up Holiday Card

DATE:  SUNDAY, October 20th
TIME:  1 to 3pm
COST:  $20

It's almost that time of year! Yep, the holidays will be here before we know it and I thought we'd get a jump on it with a rather complex little card to WOW that certain someone on your Christmas card list.

Using some adorable Karen Burniston and Crafter's Companion dies, we'll be creating this homey little pop up card.  Here's the card closed with a cute little belly band:

Looks like it's bursting with good stuff inside!  And you would be right -- take a look!

And here's another view of this same card opened up.

Will you check out the cute little kitties in this down home card.  They add such a feeling of comfort don't they?

We already have sign-ups for this class, but send me an email and I'll reserve a seat for you (deedee.maligno@gmail.com).  I am limiting this class to seven and it's half full already.  So what are you waiting for?

See you on the 20th!

Ready for Fall

DATE:  Sunday, October 6th
TIME:  1 TO 3 PM
COST:  $20

Whooeee!  What a spectacular weekend weather wise!  And it's now Fall?  Not according to the weather, but according to our next class...  Yes, I've created three projects for you that welcome in the new season.  There will also be a technique involved that I think you're gonna love!  These have very subdued colors, but pack a big impact.

Without further ado, here are the three cards you will be creating:

This first card has lots of texture giving it an organic feel.

And next is a fun cover plate card and some die cut leaves:

And lastly, our card with a little technique thrown in:

So, what say you?  Want to join the fun this Sunday?  Send me a quick email at deedee.maligno@gmail.com  by Wednesday, 10/2, to reserve your seat.

You'll need some of your oxide ink colors to help facilitate this class.  They are:  Fossilized Amber, Forest Moss and Gathered Twigs.  Applicators for same will also be helpful.  Other than that, bring your regular class kit with you.  See you Sunday!

PSSSST!!  I was able to create a fourth card that you will definitely love!  Guess you have to come to class to find out!

Pull Out Surprise Box(es)

DATE:  Friday, August 2nd
TIME:  7 to 9 pm
COST:  $20

Hey stampers!  I've got a really cute pull out surprise box project for you this month.  There are two actually, but photos of one project only.  I've recreated this project in two different sizes for you.

Since July has left us in the dust, we will start August off with a Christmas in August project.  Our second project will be generic.  I guess you'll have to come to class to see it.

Without further ado, here is the Christmas in August pull out box:

This box measures 6" high to give you a frame of reference.  Looks unassuming, doesn't it?  Well check out the next photo!

Woo Hoo!  Will you look at that!  Hard to believe they all fold into the box pictured above. Think of all the fun gifts you can put in here.  Perhaps a silk scarf, several GC's, a piece of jewelry?...

So what are you waiting for?  Email me at deedee.maligno@gmail.com to reserve your Friday night seat with friendly (sometimes nutty) ladies.  You'll need to bring your score board and a pair of tweezers as well as your regular class kit for this class.

See you soon!

Mini Notepad Holders & Post It Note Holders

DATE:  July 12, 2019
TIME:  7pm to 9 pm
COST:  $20

Hello all.  Welcome again to another fun nite of three-dimensional projects!  I know that technology as all but erased using notepads or sticky notes, but there are a few of us die hards out there who still like pencil and paper reminders!

With that being said, here are the projects we will be working on for our next class.  Designer papers used in photos may vary.

First up is our notepad holder with pen:

Then we will go on to create a few of these cute little sticky notepad holders with pens:

So send me an email if you'd like to be included with this fun class.  I will be providing a cheat sheet with measurements and basic instructions so that you can continue to make as many of these as you want.  They make great little gifts - maybe someone in the hospital or home recuperating...?  A cute thank you gift?  Whatever the occasion -- these little guys are fun to do.

Here's the email addy:  deedee.maligno@gmail.com.  Please call by WEDNESDAY, July 10th, if you'd like to join us.

See you soon!

Pull Up Card with Envelope

DATE:  Sunday, May 5th
TIME:  1 TO 3 PM
COST:  $15

Hey everyone!  Tomorrow is May 1st and I'm ready for Spring -- I just wish the weather would catch up with the date!

As mentioned before, May is going to be a month of interactive cards.  I love creating them and I love teaching them to you even more!  So let's start this month off with a fun pull up card that I found on the internet.  I redesigned it to a more manageable size for mailing.  I hope you like it.

This is a top view of the card -- nothing to look at, huh?  Well check out the second photo to see this card in action!

Isn't this cool?  There's also a space on the underside of the card for a sentiment or your personalization.  Since it's an unusual size, we'll be creating an envelope to fit using the envelope punch board.

This class is almost full.  If you are interested in attending, I MUST be notified by the end of day  Wednesday, May 1st.  Late sign-ups can not be accepted due to prep and time constraints.

I look forward to seeing you all again!

Waterfall Cards!

DATE:  SUNDAY, APRIL 28TH
TIME:  1 TO 3 PM
COST:  $20

Well here we are at the end of April -- where did it go?  I know I'm itching to teach you all a fun class -- three weeks without my happy stampers seems like a lifetime.  So here we go with two really fun and easy waterfall cards.

First up is a birthday card in A2 size (normal/regular size):

Since this is a technologically challenged day for me, you'll have to imagine how this works. I did a video but my photo library is not cooperating.  So use your imagination!

Second up is this A7 (European) size card (5x7) in landscape position:

Most of you have seen how these work and have signed up for this class.  I do, however, have ONE opening left.  So send me a quick email and I'll reserve this last seat for you!

As mentioned in my newsletter, we will continue with interactive cards through the month of May and partly into June.  There's some exciting stuff coming up -- keep watching!

Have a wonderful day.

Black Ice Technique!

DATE:  SUNDAY, APRIL 7TH
TIME:  1 TO 3 PM
COST:  $20

HAPPY APRIL!  Spring is ready to sprout -- the crocuses are up and I've seen some daffodils as well.  As winters go, this was an extremely mild one, but enough about the weather!  Let's get cooking with a fun technique that has been requested.  Black Ice -- it's soooo cool!

We'll be creating three fun cards on Sunday.  Traditionally, scene stamps go really well with this technique, but I had to test the waters and go for a flower card (it is, after all, April!).  So here are the three projects we'll be creating:

First up is a small version to get you started.  This is a top flap opening card (paper clip not included) and is a little difficult to photograph, but you get the idea.

Next is the flower version that I tried.  I do like it a lot!  This is one of Penny Black's wonderful sketched/painted flowers:

And lastly, a larger version of the first card using different scene stamps.  Scene stamps are great for just about any occasion for a card - they can say as little or as much as you want to convey to the recipient.

So this is Sunday's class.  Come have fun with this crazy group of ladies and enjoy learning a new technique.  Lots more coming up in the next few months including Waterfall cards, pop up cards and a new double slider card.  You won't want to miss these classes!

That's it for now -- see you Sunday!

Using Cover Plates

DATE:  Sunday, March 10th
TIME:  1 to 3 pm
COST:  $20

Happy snow everyone!  (NOT!)  Some of you got clobbered so I hear.  Cheer up, Spring will be here before you know it!

Many of you have been purchasing cover plate dies, but feel limited in their use.  In our next class we'll be using them in two different ways.  One as a simple "cover" card front and two as complete cards.  You'll see by the photos below how much fun these projects can be.  And they are simple to make!

Our first card is done using the cover plate as the entire card front:

Our second and third projects are done using these cover dies as complete cards.  I've used both delicate cover plate dies and a sturdier one (Make A Wish card) to give you an idea how to use them.

What a fun and innovative way to use these dies!  Come join us for this class on Sunday.  I have ONE seat left and must know by Friday if you plan on joining us.  There is a good deal of prep work involved with these cards and I surely do appreciate any lead time in getting them ready for you!

See you Sunday!

January 2019 Classes are Here!

DATES:  Sunday, January 13th
               Sunday, January 27th
TIME:  1 TO 3pm
COST:  $20 per class

HAPPY NEW YEAR All!!!  I hope  your holidays were filled with happiness and fine food.  I think we're all a bit happy they're over with though.  There's so much "stuff" packed into one holiday that it leaves you almost breathless.  And then there was New Years, etc...

We are back on track at Donna's Designs 4You with some fun cards to create in January.  Our first class will be a revisit to color blocking.  You remember using this short, stubby brushes (Color Dusters) to add color to your card front and block it off into sections?  If you don't remember, then this will be new to you. If you do remember, you'll definitely enjoy doing it again.

Here are three cards we'll be creating on Sunday, January 13th.  The first is a bolder color block with black intersection lines.

And our second card is color blocking using only two colors with an unusual "twist"  for the blocking:

And the last card provides a tiny bit of a challenge using monochromatic tones in a sunburst design:

Send me an email or text letting me know if you'll be attending.  I'm looking forward to resuming these classes with my favorite card making group!

NOTE:  Please bring your regular class kit with you and include Color Dusters if you own them.  Alternate tools are the large finger daubers.

______________________________________________________________

And now for our second class for January...  Since Valentine's Day creeps up rather quickly, I thought we'd get a jump on our card making for that day.  Here are a few teasers for you - more details to follow once this class comes closer to the date.  Hint:  one of these is a pop-up card!

Just drop me a line if you'd like to join us for some heart-warming fun.
