Going Gray

DATE:  SUNDAY, MARCH 4TH
TIME:  1 - 3 PM
COST:  $20

THIS CLASS IS FULL!
(see details below for further sign-ups)

I love techniques and more than that, I love teaching them to others.  My info is your info!  So for this next class we will be using an old standby, Prismacolor pencils and (GASP!) stamps!  There will be one "optional" die involved.  (You know I can't conduct a class without a die!)  With this optional die, you will learn how to do the "out-of-the-box" technique.

We will be using some great Strathmore gray paper for all of these cards and spruce them up with our colored pencils.

Here's what we'll be creating:

First up is simple stamping combined with what I call an enamel technique.

Next is an uber simple stamping/coloring project.

Followed by the "out-of-the-box" technique (optional)

And our last project will be this sweet daisy card using some easy shading.

Since this class is full, I will be taking names for wait-listing for Sunday March 11th at 1pm.  Please email me if you are interested.

See you soon!

Making the Most from Your Dies

DATE:  Sunday, February 11th
TIME:  1 TO 3pm
COST:  $20

Wow!  We're into February already!  Time flies when you're having fun doesn't it?  And we had a ball at our Valentine's class last Sunday.  So won't you join us for our next class which will be an informative class about how to get more mileage from your dies.  Certain dies, of course, will not lend themselves to these techniques.  We pay some hefty $$ for these dies, so let's get them to do more for us!

I will be showing you 4 different ways to utilize your dies. To demonstrate what I mean, we will be using a daisy die (flowers lend themselves beautifully to these techniques).  Below is a picture of the dies being used and four different ways in which I've utilized them.

This class is more than half full, so you'll have to be quick to notify me if you'd like to reserve your seat.  As usual, you can email me at deedee.maligno@gmail.com so that I can reserve your spot.

As always, in the event of inclement weather (that being the dreaded four letter "S" word), this class will be held the following Sunday, February 18th.

I look forward to seeing you all again!

Love is in the Air!

DATE:  January 28th
TIME:  1 to 3pm
COST:  $20

First of all - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Well we started it off with a bang with that snow storm and today it's all gone.  Welcome to New England.

Love is in the air for February and as is fitting, we will be creating 3  cards for those loved ones in your life.  We will also be calling out an old technique that lends itself so well to these cards -- working with aluminum foil!

You will need your regular class kit (no score boards needed) and it would be HELPFUL if you brought a GLUE STICK.

Here's what you'll be creating at our next fun filled class.  Using one half sheet of card stock, we'll be able to create all the shiny silver layers on all three cards.

(Mmm! love these dies!)

(you can't see the soft shimmer of this card below, but it's there!)

  (an easel card below)

I look forward to seeing you all for our first class of 2018!

NOTE:  In case of snow, we will postpone this class to Sunday, February 4th at the same time.  Don't worry, we'll get you football fanatics home in plenty of time to watch the Super Bowl!

So be sure and sign up emailing me directly at deedee.maligno@gmail.com to reserve your spot.  I'm still having PayPal issues and can't create a pay button for your convenience at this time.

Pop-Up Cards!

DATE:  SUNDAY, November 12th
TIME:  1 to 3 pm
COST:  $15

Who doesn't like an interactive card?  They are hard to resist but easy to make, so join me as we explore two fantastic pop up cards.

The first one we'll be creating is the Christmas Tree Pop-Up card.  It's a little time intensive, but it's easy and so worth the time!

Here's the Christmas Tree Pop-Up card closed...

And here's the card open!  WOW!  What a fun card!

Then we have an adorable snowman pop-up card...

Open up and here's another cute interactive card.

These cards aren't just for kids either!  Adults love them just as much and they think you've worked very hard to create them.  Shhhh!  We won't tell!

I have one seat left in this class, so just email me at deedee.maligno@gmail.com to reserve that last slot.  I can't accept any reservations after Wednesday, November 1st due to a heavy schedule.

See you Sunday, November 12th!

Donna

PLEASE NOTE:  bring your regular class kit with you and include a good tacky glue for these projects.  Glossy Accents (or similar) is perfectly acceptable.

Shaker Cards are here!

DATE:  Sunday, October 22
TIME:  1-3 pm
COST:  20

Yes, shaker cards are all the rage right now.  So let's join the bandwagon and create some of our own in this class!  We'll be using tulle and shaker windows to create 3 very fun cards as follows:

First up is a little birthday card using the traditional "plastic" window shaker method.  Bringing Crazy Birds into the mix makes for a fun card.  I will provide you with information as to where to purchase these "windows" for future shaker cards.

Next we'll try our hand at using tulle to create our window with this fun holiday tree card.

And last but not least, is another holiday card using the same method.  We'll demystify the shaker card method with these quick and seasonal cards.  Using inexpensive tulle is a great way to make  many wonderful cards for your holiday season!

For your convenience, I have added a PayPal Button below to lock in your seat for this fun class.  If you don't have a PayPal account, just email me at deedee.maligno@gmail.com to reserve your seat.

Looking forward to seeing you all !

It's Fall, y'all!

DATE:  Saturday, October 7th
TIME:  1pm to 3pm (or thereabouts)
COST:    $20

I don't know where the time went but here we are at Fall's front door.  House is decorated (something I had limitations with in my old house), mums are planted, the Fall candle is lit and I've created some fun cards for us to work on!

I love Fall and it always inspires some great card making and I hope you'll join me on October 7th at 1pm to learn some new, creative ways of stamping.

Yes, I said new, creative ways...  Very few stamps were used and these are all basically CAS (Clean And simple) cards.  Come play with me and I'll happily pass on a new technique or two.  We'll be making four cards using different ways of creating some rather quick cards (if you finish early, you are welcome to create more at no additional charge).

Here's what we'll be doing:

(yikes!  look at the wrinkles in that card stock!)  We're going to use the new Oxide inks on this one.

Nope, no stamps here other than the sentiment!

Again, no stamps here (AT ALL)!

Oooh, loving the background!

So please join me on Saturday, October 7th at 1pm.  Since PayPal has changed their website, I cannot provide you with a pay button at this time.  So please contact me at deedee.maligno@gmail.com to reserve your spot.    We have plenty of room in the new house so invite a friend to join you (let me know, of course).

Now that Kept Creations has closed its doors, this is the only available live classroom around so you may want to reach out to some of Kept's former clientele to let them know where we are!

See you soon!

I'm baaaack!!

DATE:  Saturday, July 29th
TIME:  1PM
COST:  $20

Well it's sure been a long haul and many months, but it was worth it.  The move has been completed.  While we are not completely settled (Translation:  can't find a darn thing!...now where did I put that?...I KNOW I packed it!), my craft studio is up and running.  Hooray!  I have so missed my toys.  (I'm still finding many of them -- wherever I put them at the time, I thought it was a good place.  Now where was that place?)

Enough of that my dear, dear students (friends).  I have missed you all terribly and am glad to be back in the saddle (uh, stamp room) again!  Since everything is new here, I thought I'd kick off our first session with a "new" product.  I'm sure you've all heard about the new Distress Oxide inks.  No?  Well you are going to hear and play with them for our very first class.

I have fallen hopelessly in love with these inks.  I love my regular Distress Inks, but these... oh my!  Anyway, I've created three projects for you using these new Distress Inks in three different ways (there are soooo many ways to use them!).  I don't want to overwhelm you, so I stayed pretty basic and simple for your first time using them.
Being summer and all, I know weekends can be tricky trying to hold a class, but I've set aside Saturday, July 29th at 1pm for this class.  Part of the reason for this is that I would rather have you travel here in daylight.  We are in the middle of nowhere and it can be daunting getting here.  I'm going to put a caveat in here for a moment.  I know many of you don't work during the week or are on hiatus from your jobs, so please feel free to email me if a weekday class would suit you better in the event that 7/29 doesn't work.

So without further ado, here are our rather simple looking cards using three methods of ink application.

You will need your regular class kit and if any of you have a heat gun, an extra few would be great.  I have three, but just in case...
PLEASE feel free to use the PayPal button below to sign up or email me at deedee.maligno@gmail.com.

Since none of  you know how to get here and this house is not in the GPS satellite yet, you will need to email me for directions at the above email addy.

You can't know how excited I am to see you all again!  We'll have a rocking good time and I'm sure Chef Charles will be anxious to make some sort of delicacy for "his girls".

See you soon!
