More Fun Folded Arrow cards

Hello crafters!  I've put together some more (different) arrow fold cards for you.  Super simple and as elegant or funky as you'd like.  It's all in your imagination and creativity.

The fold I've chosen for you has a "clasp" of sorts.  I dug out those old brads (remember them?) to use on these cards.  I've been trying to dig back into some of my stash and pull out some old "friends".  I can remember when brads were the "be-all and end-all" to crafting.  Time marches on!

I must warn you -- this is an even longer video than the last one.  It's a good thing you can turn me on and off!  Grab a sandwich and a drink and settle in for some more fun.  I'll try and pare these videos down to a more manageable timeframe.  My apologies.

So, for my first project, I've created this elegant little arrow clasp fold.  Get out your paper shaping tools again and have a go at it!  It's really simple to make and I give you all the measurements needed.

And for my second card, I dug out those old friends - Crazy Cats and Dogs.  Remember them?  I need to remember to create something more on the masculine side instead of all those "lady cards" that we do.  So I hope you like this one with Crazy Dog.  I will custom create a kit for those cat lovers in the group -- just let me know if you don't want the dog.  But always remember, you can use the techniques shown, and change them up with whatever crafting tools you have.  All I want is to inspire you.

Fun Folded Cards

Well I have been having way too much fun creating new things for you!  I was afraid my Mojo had deserted me for a while, but I think I'm back on track again.  And I have a really interesting fold to show you!

Truthfully, the last card (double arrow fold) is one that I have had on my desk for probably six years.  Yes, you read that correctly!  Six years!  I had not perfected it to where I wanted to teach it, but I got all the "bugs" out and it's really, really simple!

Without further delay, I will present each card with a short explanation.  First up, is the Single Arrow Fold card -- very easy and oh so versatile.  This card is fitting for male or female, young or old.

And the second card is the same fold but a different orientation both the fold and the card! 

And the last card is a more intricate version of the above.  This is called a double fold arrow card.  (this is the one that sat untouched for six years!).  In truth, if I couldn't figure it out, then how could I teach it?!  (I love it when I make sense!):

A Fun New Technique!

Oh have I got a fun new technique for you!  And you should have all the tools already in your stash.  I'm going to call this the Bold Backfill Technique.  This is such an exciting technique -- almost as exciting as wet embossing!

With this technique, I'll show you how to go from a white piece of card stock to a dynamic and impressive background.  So here are the photos to peak your interest.  I've done a step by step video on how to create this stunning effect, so no stressing please.

Embossing

Hello lovely people!  Well our last class was a resounding success!  I even got samples sent via email -- you don't know how happy that makes me to see the fruits of your labor.  Keep 'em coming!

So our next class was put together a year ago, but the pandemic took care of that class.   Based on a request from one of you ladies, I am moving forward with it.  The video got a little weird when my iron wouldn't work, but I hope the basic instructions and samples smoothed that over.

Anyway, we'll be covering wet embossing only.  Yes, there are two methods:  wet and dry.  There will be no actual kit mailed to you; however, once you sign up I will send you the link to the video along with a two page cheat sheet on all the methods covered.  Some folks are visual learners and others prefer the written word.  You'll have the best of both worlds!  Your cheat sheet covers all the tools you'll need for the methods used in the video as well as instructions on each method.

Valentines Cards

Happy New Year to all!  And what a year we said goodbye to!  I'm cautiously optimistic about 2021 as is everyone else on planet earth.  

What better way to see a new year in than using expressions of love with some fun Valentines cards.  I've created two different type card fronts for you in this class that I think you're definitely going to recreate down the line.

First up is a traditional A2 size card with a double flap opening.  Watch the video to see just how easy it is to create and replicate this style in many different ways.

And my next project is another slimline card (I really, really love this format!).  Since I've heard neither positive nor negative comments about this format, I will continue to create these on occasion going forward in 2021.

Slimline Christmas Cards

Well, it's that time of year again and what a very different "time" it will be this year.  Here's hoping 2021 will be a much better year.  So let's say goodbye to 2020 with two more Christmas cards using the slimline format.

I've been digging through all my precious, old "stuff" with an eye toward using some older images.  And I mean images predating cutting dies!  Remember back then?  Anyway, I dug out this cute image of Rudolph and decided he was just the right size for a slimline card.  Hope you like this one!

Isn't he a hoot?  (Sorry the photo is a bit blurry.)

And one more card using lots of glitter.  This card has a surprise - the tree on the front is an ornament ready for hanging!  Guaranteed this card will make you look at your dies in a whole different way. (Again, apologies for the poor photo quality.)

SLIMLINE CARDS!

Hello to all!  I have been amongst the missing due to computer and iPhone issues.  It's not easy being me and this past week just did me in with electronics! But I am back with a really fun class for you.

The rage today is slimline cards.  Simply put, this is a card that will fit into a #10 (business) envelope.  There are many sizes that you can adapt your cards to -- the size is up to you.  We'll try and go over that with my next video.

I have to say, I have been having a grand time with this "extended canvas".  It really makes you think about size/proportion, etc.  There are also many dies that are being produced for this format, but you really don't need them.  So what I've put together for you is a card that is indicative of the times with Covid19, that being the inability to visit/see family and friends.  So here's our first card:

Our second card will be indicative of the upcoming Christmas season.  I went clean and simple with this one.  You'll be able to adapt quite easily to clean and simple using your own stamps and/or dies once you've tried this one.  The die set is from GinaK Designs and it's one of my very favorite for the season.  I hope you will enjoy this one as much as I do!
