Spring Has Sprung!

DATE:  Sunday, 5/21

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $20

Well, the most refreshing time of the year has appeared.  I just love spring with all the budding flowers and the green, green lawns.  It's rejuvenating!

So let's rejuvenate together as we create three spring type cards.  These are very simple, uncomplicated cards using some frames, background dies and stencils.  You will create a daffodil card, a tulip and a cosmos.  These are all layering dies - if you don't own any, I think this may change your mind.  They are simple to use and most don't require any specific coloring.  Our tulip card will depict a little more "complicated" die plus coloring so that you can compare simplicity versus more intricate.

Here are our three cards:

There are two spots left in this class so don't hesitate to contact me via text, email or phone.  I'll be happy to add you!

See you soon!

Tri-Fold Sentiment Tuck Cards

DATE:  Sunday, April 30th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $20

And it's on to another fun technique!  I often forget about the wonderful results when using partial die cutting.  It all has to do with your cutting plate placement -- as simple as that!  In this class I'll show you how and you will actually do the die cutting yourself.  The cards themselves are quick to do, but things will slow down as there is only one die and one die cutting machine -- and, as stated, each of you will die cut your own.  What better way to learn than hands-on!

The three cards we will be making are as follows.  I've tried to vary it up a bit with different sentiments.  Using sentiment dies is sort of off the radar and you wouldn't ordinarily think to use them this way.  Using some coordinating designer papers and a few embellishments, you are ready to go!

There are two openings left in this class, so don't wait -- send me an email, text or phone call to reserve your spot.

See you soon!

WORKING WITH ACETATE

DATE:  Sunday, April 16th

TIME:  12:30 TO 2:30 (refer to note in newsletter)

COST:  $20

Ahhh, acetate!  You hold it in your hand and wonder "what can I do with this?"  Well in this next class I hope to take some of the mystery out of that question.  As you know, card makers love to diddle with many different mediums and this is at the top I think.

There are many types of acetate:  embossable, printable, pre-printed, blister pack (what items come wrapped in that you need a bomb to open?), etc.  My advice is to play with what you have on hand, but I will list some companies that offer these types of acetate.

We will hopefully be creating 4 different cards in this class ranging from plain acetate, to pre-printed acetate, embossed acetate and colored pre-printed acetate.  The photos below will show you.

I'm looking forward to showing you how to use this fun medium.  There are two openings left in this class, so send me a shout out via text, email, phone, etc...

See you soon and don't forget to check to newsletter for supplies to bring!

DOUBLE FLOATING POP UP CARDS

DATE:  Sunday, April 2nd

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $20

Well here we are in April already!  We've been soooo lucky with the weather, so you'll note that I took down my "in case of snow" warning in the newsletter.  Let's hope I wasn't premature!

I've got another fun interactive card class for you.  We'll be doing one rather playful birthday card and an elegant one.  You'll get the benefit of seeing how impression plates can bring your cards to another level -- I personally love them and have a little stash (no surprise there!).

So here's our first card...

And here's the fun surprise part with the pop ups....

And our second card takes on a totally different feel...

As warned in the newsletter, the background (mirror card) has taken on some really wild colors -- photography lighting will do that. The color of the background is really a lovely, soft green.

There are currently two openings left in this class.  You'll have to sign up early as there's a lot of prep work on my end for all the components in these cards and I can't accept any sign-ups after Wednesday, 3/29.

So are you ready for another fun class?  See you soon!

Gift Bag with cards

DATE:  SUNDAY, March 19th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $20

This is the one you've been so excited about learning.  We all have an occasion where a small gift is needed.  And what better way than to use your creative juices and basically no cost!  We're creating this lovely gift bag with six cards and envelopes.  The wonder of it all is it's made with one sheet of 12x12 designer paper!  Well, to be honest, you'll have to bring some coordinating color card stock to enhance your designer paper (DP) choice.  At our last class I had you bring the DP so that I could coordinate ribbon colors for you.  Wow!  You brought some incredibly lovely papers with you and I can't wait to see your projects completed with them

The following are merely examples of the bag and cards.  These were my choices of 12x12 and I simply coordinated embellishments to complete the cards.

On the above sample, I used a single sided 12x12 DP and chose to use die cut white flowers to mimic the design in the paper.

And on this one I used a double-sided DP and simply pulled the colors from it and added a die cut embellishment.

Oh the places you'll go when you start looking at your 12x12 DP in a totally different light!  It makes me want to create so many of this project.  I chose "Thank You" as my theme in both of these samples.  Who can't use a thank you card!  The recipient will be delighted with your gift.

You can always change the theme by including various occasion cards - it's your world!

I look forward to seeing you all on the 19th.  Be sure an check the newsletter for supplies needed (extremely minimal!).

Ink Swiping (technique)

DATE:  Sunday, 3/5/23

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $20

My head is spinning -- where the devil did February go??!!!  (I'll bet my son is saying the same thing as he turned 51 on 2/23!)  We will usher March in with another fun technique class.  Last week's was another technique class and you girls did a super fine job of it!  Let's try another!

We'll use the ink swiping technique which allows you to create a card in five minutes -- no joke!  All you need to do is choose some colors you like and swipe along with me.  I've listed the colors you'll need for this class in the newsletter, so don't forget to read it!

Here's what we'll be doing...

Simply by changing the direction of your ink swipes, your card takes on a totally different look!  As you can see, when creating these cards at home, you can choose predominantly outline (or sketchy) stamps or you can try some solid ones -- you may like them even better!

There are two openings for this class -- reserve your spot with me either thru email, text or phone!

See you in March!

BLOCK PARTY (technique)

DATE:  SUNDAY, 2/19

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $20

It's always amazing when I put a card together and think, "yeah, it's ok - that will do".  However, the reaction from you ladies has been overwhelming with praise for these simple to do cards.  I call this the Block Party technique.  If I can explain to someone over the phone how to create this technique, then you know how simple it's going to be.  It just requires a little patience and lots of inky goodness.

As mentioned in the newsletter, your biggest problem might be choosing whatever ink colors to use.  I know some of you struggle with color combos -- relax!  Just grab two colors you like and play with them. Then you can graduate to three or four colors.  And remember, it's ONLY PAPER!  So if you're unhappy with your color choices, change it up!  However, for this class, I am being color specific to help you deal with color issues.

So here are the three cards we'll be creating on the 19th.  Be sure and read the newsletter for supplies to bring with you to class.  Very important.

So, some ink, daubers and the piece de resistance, embossing folders -- you'll have yourself a fun and new technique!

There are two openings for this class so I'd suggest you email, text or call me with your request for a seat quickly.

In the meantime, Happy Valentines Day to all - don't eat too many bon bone!
