LACY DAYS OF SUMMER

 DATE:  Sunday, July 6th

 TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Summer has arrived!  Maybe it can tone it down a bit from 100 degrees tho?  Well, while the heat melts the outside, we will be in air-conditioned comfort creating some fun cards.  A medium that is often overlooked in card making is lace.  I was rummaging around the other day and came across some scraps of lace and thought "what a nice thing to introduce the ladies to" in a class.

I came across quite a few different types of lace in my stash and pulled out three different sizes for you to play with.  I started of with this simple 2" lace using butterflies and pearls for accents:

The next piece of lace is 1" wide so I used it to accent a strip down the side of this card:

And the last card features a wide 3" piece of lace.  The width of this lace inspired a slimline card which I think worked out very well:

You can use ruffled lace as well for your cards - these are just what I came across in my stash.  I hope these cards will inspire you to use something a bit unusual to enhance your card making.

There are still openings in this class, so let me know thru the usual channels (email, text, phone call, carrier pigeon, etc.) if you'd like to be included.

In the meantime, stay cool and we'll see you on the 6th of July.  In the meantime, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

Collapsing Pillar cards

DATE:  Sunday, June 22nd

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Boy, Father's Day threw a bunch of you a loop as far as classes go!  We will be back on schedule of every other week once Father's Day is done.

Having said that, I have another fun class prepared for you.  The pillars in these cards collapse so that they fit in a regular A2 size envelope.  One difference is that one card (the black and white "Hello" card) has two pillars (you can't see the one in the back in this photo, but it's there).  I like to push the envelope when it comes to a different folded card.  These are all A2 cards and it's a very simple adjustment if you wanted to create an A7 card.

Here's what we'll be doing in no special order:

Also in this class you will get to use some of the Lisa Horton Interference inks and some of the Altenew die inks.  You'll only need two ink colors for this class:  chipped sapphire and a yellow ink.

There are a few openings in this class - you know the drill!  Reserve early so that I have ample time to prep a kit.  There's a lot of die cutting involved, so lead time for me is important.  See you soon!
