Polar Bear Christmas

 DATE:  SUNDAY, November 19th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30 (or so)

COST:  $25

Here we are in mid-November - would someone PLEASE slow the world down!  Pretty soon we'll be in the clutches of holidays, parties, cooking, etc.  And the days go by so quickly!

To help you with your Christmas card projects, our last two classes will include a total of six more cards that you can add to your list.  This class involves more whimsical cards using polar bears.  We'll be using wobbles, sliders, and wet and dry embossing for this class.  No special supplies needed other than Copics or markers to color the hats and scarves for the polar bears.

So, in no particular order, here are this class' projects:

I think you'll enjoy this class using several techniques - nothing you haven't done before and easy, peasy!  There are still a few openings in this class, so contact me by Wednesday, 11/13 the latest, to reserve your spot.  I have a really crazy week coming up and a ton of die cutting for this class so early sign-up is important.  Thanks for understanding.

See you soon!

Christmas Cards you won't forget!

DATE:  Sunday, 10/3

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

I'm late again!  I seem to be on a never ending roller coaster these days and am trying to catch up on things.  I have a great class planned for you for Christmas cards.

These two cards use lots of card stock and a little measuring, but do not be afraid!  I will try and list the dimensions for these cards, but again, time constraints may prohibit this.

Our first card involves lots of layers and a wee bit of measuring.  Here's the top view...

And here's the front view...

Our second card, again involves lots of card stock as well.  Here's the top view...

And front view...

There are openings in this class but I MUST hear from you by Wednesday, 10/30, to reserve your spot.

Hope to see you soon!

Donna

Fall Cards

DATE:  Sunday, 10/20

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

I have whiplash from how fast October is speeding by!  Please, someone slow the world down!  And while our world is whirling about, we will be prepping for the Fall season.

We'll be doing cards featuring lots of pumpkins.  I've also devised a "pumpkin" using circles and ovals from some non-traditional papers that I think you'll really like.  The way you ladies are whizzing thru these classes is remarkable so I've decided to add two more cards to this class.  They are both CAS which is something we don't do too often.  Sometimes holding back from adding too much, can be difficult.  But a clean and simple card is always very restful looking.  I hope I've accomplished that with these two cards.

So, the cards we will be doing are as follows:

First up is a cart full of pumpkins.

Next up is a single pumpkin but with a busy pumpkin background.

And our third card is the non-traditional one using circles and ovals to form a pumpkin shape.  I had so much fun creating this - maybe because black and white is so out of the box for Fall colors...

Now I'm keeping back the photos of the CAS cards -- you'll just have to come to class to create them.  But I don't think you'll be disappointed when you see them.

There are still a few openings in this class due to Bobbie returning to CA for the winter and Barbara who's out with a bad "wing" (she just had surgery on her shoulder).  So you know the drill - call, text, email, etc. to reserve a spot.  Be kind and let me know sooner rather than later so that I can prep early in the week.

See you all soon!

Photo Paper and Ink

DATE:  Sunday, September 22nd

TIME;  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Whoosh!  I feel like a gerbil on a treadmill.  Been a busy week and I am trying to tie up loose ends and get this blog posted before I go away for a few days R&R.

Have you ever used glossy card stock?  I used to have a pile of white and black that I used regularly.  But when I came across a tutorial on using photo paper (it's glossy!) and ink smooshing, I knew I had to introduce you to it.  It's inexpensive (Walmart) for a small box of precut photo paper.

I used the ink smooshing technique which is easy but then decided to challenge myself and use ink blending on one card.  It's a bit fiddly and you may not get it the first time, but that's why there will be extra photo paper on hand.

I wanted to stay with Fall colors for this class, but then changed my mind and did one card using my favorite combo of colors -- BLUES!  However, you are encouraged to bring whatever 3 color combo you'd like to try on this card (see newsletter).

So our first card is using the ink smooshing technique in blues:

These are the Altenew brand of inks in blues - and can I just say, I am impressed with their quality.  You will be welcomed to try them in class, but I do suggest you bring your own color combo for this card anyway.

Our next two cards are using Fall colors:

And our last card using Fall colors:

Be sure and check the newsletter under "what to bring to class" for ink colors.

There are several openings in this class so if you'd like to join us, please email, text, phone, carrier pigeon and let me know you'd like to reserve a spot.  See you soon!

Glitter cards

DATE:  Sunday, September 8th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Goodbye August!  Where in the heck did it go?  We'll be dragging out the sweatshirts and long pants soon for a nice change from the humidity.  Along with that, I'll be gearing your classes according to the seasons.  I had forgotten about the company that supplies the components for this next class and I thought I'd revisit it with you.

This is what I call a "no glitter mess" card and I know you're going to love it!  I will supply you with the company website at the time of this class.  So here goes...  you will be completing both of the slimline cards in this class.  I have also listed three different A2 size cards, only one of which you will be making. I have limited supply of these images and as mentioned in the newsletter, you'll need to notify me which of the A2 cards you'd like to do.  If all the images have been spoken for, I will offer you the alternative ones.

So, without further ado, here are the cards for this class...

There are a few openings in this class and you know how to reach me to reserve a spot!

See you soon!

Using Washi Tape

 DATE:  Sunday, August 18th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

What is Washi tape you ask?  It's a sticky-sided tape made of all colors, designs, textures, etc.  It is a super medium for making a 5 minute card.  So hang with me on this one and see what we'll be doing next.

These are in no particular order, but we'll start with the really quick ones first.  Take a few strips of Washi, pop them down at an angle and run thru your embossing folder.  It doesn't get any easier than that!

Since we're on a roll, let's add another strip of Washi to this next card and create a smooshing background...

And next is a "two-fer".  We'll create this next one with over 8 different (but coordinating) designs and then die cut the center to create a second card.

This last little nugget is actually a 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 gift card enclosure -- see what I did with the Washi tape this time?

Ok, so Blogger is giving me fits and starts on this newsletter.  I'm having a heck of a time uploading these photos.  You'll just have to come to class to see the last card!

I have a few openings in this class, so text, email, phone etc. to reserve your spot.

See you on the 18th!

Be sure and check the newsletter (which has ALL the photos), for supplies needed.

Box Easel Card

DATE:  Sunday, August 4th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

Yikes!  August already?  What happened to June and July?  I've got some fun classes lined up for you and will hopefully be using a few new products -- no promises, but I'll try.

In this next class we'll be making easel cards, but with a twist. They have a box at the bottom to hold the easel part of the card.  Surprisingly, they fold fairly flat for mailing.

So what's it all about?  Photos below are in no particular order, but we will start with the strawberry one since there's some drying time involved.  Just think about the many possibilities for these cards -- any occasion, any holiday, etc.

Here's the strawberry card...

This is a new die I decided to use...

And that familiar (but new) die - the Anemone!

Be sure and check the newsletter for the inks used for these cards.  Note:  I had used neon inks for the Anemone above, but have substituted Oxide colors in the newsletter.  Since this card is predominantly black and white, please feel free to color the anemone in whatever colors you may prefer.

There is one spot left in this class.  Don't delay - contact me via email, text or phone call to reserve this spot.

As always, I look forward to seeing you!
