EASY CAS CARDS

 DATE:  Sunday, May 5th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

There is something so refreshing about clean and simple (CAS) cards.  The biggest challenge is knowing when to STOP!  We are so used to adding "stuff" to our cards to complete them.  Sometimes the simplest, cleanest look does the trick.

In this next class we'll complete three cards using a really fun and extremely simple technique.  Listed below are the three cards we'll be doing, but you are more than welcome to bring whatever colors of ink that make you happy.  The newsletter shows the colors I used for these projects.

I stayed with soft colors but you are more than welcome (and encouraged) to use brighter or darker inks.  Let yourself go!  Choose some colors you ordinarily don't gravitate toward.  You may be surprised!

There is one opening left in this class.  You know the drill -- call, text or email to hold your spot.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 5th!

More Embossing Fun

DATE:  Sunday, April 21st

TIME:  12:30 TO 2:30

COST:  $25

Oh how we love embossing folders!  Well, at least I do and I love them so much that I love to pass on some of the ways I've learned to use them.  Let's face it, we really need to utilize our "toys" more.  So let's go!

In this class we'll employ simple embossing with some coloring involved.  I'll also have one card that's a bit more involved than the first three.  The first two we will create are basically the same, just using light and dark card.   A little ink, a little tearing... and voila!  Pretty much a 5 minute card!

Our next card will involve just a tiny bit of coloring...

And our last card involves, coloring and cutting...

You'll get to make some use from your bow maker -- I know!  It's been a long time!  Bring it with you!

There's only one spot open in this class.  You know how to get in touch with me to reserve your spot!

More Stencil Fun!

 DATE:  Sunday, April 7th

TIME:  12:30 TO 2:30

COST:  $25

Hard to believe that March is over!  When you think what March could have been if all this rain were actually snow!!!  Let's hope we don't have a surprise in April.

In our last class we all worked with one set of layered stencils and you ladies did an outstanding job.  So let's simplify this for the next class, shall we?  Most of us would have started with the simpler way of using stencils, but you all loved that layered rose so much that I pushed it up to first place.

This time we will use one layer stencils only.  I will have a table full of stencils for you to choose from.  Your only question will be what colors to bring for our last card.  Please refer to the newsletter for color combinations.

Our first card will incorporate partial stenciling for an interesting background.  Backgrounds can be in your face or a subtle accent.  You can use whatever ink color you'd like to bring.

Our next card is extremely simple stenciling using a micron pen to accent...

And our last card we will be using three different inks on one stencil as well as creating a blended card background using these same colors...

There are two openings left in this class.  Contact me via email, text or phone to reserve your spot.

I look forward to seeing you all and have a wonderful Easter.  Don't eat too many chocolate eggs!

Playing with Vellum

 DATE:  Sunday, March 3rd

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

What to do with vellum!  I'll admit, I don't use it too often because of its properties - that is, that you can't use tape or glue without it showing.  Now who wants that?  Well we will work around that theory and use some creative ways of circumventing it.  One of my favorite ways of using vellum is with word dies with shadow.  It adds so much to a card.  We will NOT be using this method (too easy!) for this class.

Instead, we will use a combination of wet and dry embossing and some coloring.  I think you'll be happy with the results and will try this at home.  Here's what we'll be doing...

The above card is created by doing some straight embossing and a little bit of tearing.

The above card is created using ink blending, dry and wet embossing together...

And our last card will be created using wet embossing and Copic markers.

There are a few openings left in this class.  So don't wait -- email, text or call me to reserve your spot at this fun class.  Be sure and check the newsletter for supplies to bring to class.

See you soon!

LET THERE BE LIGHT!

 DATE:  Sunday, February 18th

TIME:  12:30 to 2:30

COST:  $25

Happy February and Valentines Day.  We did a really cute Book Jacket Valentines card that you ladies loved.   Now I KNOW this is not the Valentine card, but this IS the Book Jacket card.  You ladies did a super job on them.  It was a bit confusing since I had all of you bring whatever colors you liked -- it created a placement problem, but we got thru it!  You rock!

The cards we will be doing in this class are from an adorable Diamond Press set that I thought I'd share with you.  Make note of the last card shown -- two of our gals are named Watt (former and current).  They, of course, are in love with the card.

There's no technique involved here - just plain old place and glue with a little coloring involved.

And for the WATT's...

Now if I knew of stamp sets with all your last names, we'd be having a grand time!  But we don't and I won't.

As mentioned in the newsletter, you'll need your regular class kit and some markers.  Check out the photos above and choose your colors accordingly.

See you soon!

Book Jacket cards

DATE:  Sunday, February 5th

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

JANUARY - gone!

FEBRUARY - coming up fast!  So let's fill it with some fun cards.  I have a book jacket card for you that is super easy and fun to create.  I've created three different cards for you, the last one of which will be in the colors you choose and with no sentiments involved -- you can decide later what theme you want to use it for!

So here we go.  I've shown the first card front face and then opened.  The next two cards are shown face front only -- they all work the same.

On this card we will use embossing folders and patterned paper...

On the next card we will use patterned paper only...

Our last card will be created using whatever two colors of ink you decide to bring with you.  Then we'll use a technique that is rarely used and often forgotten.  Can you guess what it is?

I have ONE spot left in this class, so hurry and contact me via email, text, phone, etc. to reserve your spot!

As mentioned in the newsletter, don't forget to choose two ink colors that you like and the applicators to go with them.

See you in February!

Tile Cards

DATE:  Sunday, January 21st

TIME:  12:30 - 2:30

COST:  $25

OK, so here we are mid-January already!  How is this possible?  Time does fly when you're having fun and I'm having lots of fun creating classes for you.  As mentioned in the newsletter, we may be revisiting some old techniques or tools from the past during the year.  We often overlook things when something new catches our eye (that would NEVER happen to me!!!).  So you are warned in advance.

Anyway, this next class features tile cards which we have not done before, but I thought they were an interesting spin on card styles.  The only "daunting" thing about these cards is what to put on each tile of the card!  Here's what I'm talking about...

This is a simple black and white to start you off with -- a lot less to think about, yes?

And here's a photo with the card partially spread apart...

And our second card is a little fancier, but simple nonetheless...

(A little mirror card action going on here...)

So I hope you'll join me on January 21st for another fun fold card!
